There are many kind of telnet software in this world. Here are two examples of telnet software.

 1. Telnet 2000

          2. Nifty Telnet

Nifty Telnet is a freeware telnet client for the Macintosh. Version 1.1 is now available. Nifty Telnet comes in several flavors below. Due to U.S. export laws, only U.S. citizens or residents may download versions, which support encryption. A non-encrypting version is available for non-U.S. Citizens/Residents.

The distributions are bins hexed Stuff It! The file, which Stuff It Expander, can decode. Each binary distribution includes the application, an apple guide, a README file, the Navigator Telnet Fix utility, and a PGP signature file. The MacBinarized version of the application is signed by Chris Newman’s Public Key and may be verified using MacPGP. Although signature verification is optional, it does give some assurance that the application has not been modified to include a virus or Trojan horse.

Here is a selection of key features available in Nifty Telnet:

      Open Transport native Cerberus V4 Authentication, Authentication passing, and Encryption (if Authentication Manager is installed)

       Command-click to launch URLs (if Internet Comfit V1.1 or greater is installed)

3. Windows 95/98

Users Windows 95/98 comes with a Telnet application. Netscape 4.x and Internet Explorer should automatically use this Telnet application, so you should not need to do any special setup in your World Wide Web browser to use the Windows 95/98 Telnet.                    

You can modify the Netscape application preferences to use any other telnet program you have installed on your computer by going into Preferences/Applications and selecting "URL: Telnet Protocol." The "Edit..." button then allows you to browse your hard disk and select the desired program.

 

4. Telnet98

            Telnet98 is the full-featured and highly flexible PC Telnet Client for Intra- and Internet. Features do include:
